Part of my Heart

When I bruise, you get hurt.
I get cut and its you who bleeds.
So I hold you real tight.
(Maybe it’s just my greed.)

Like my very own diamond
Set deep within my heart’s ring,
I love the whole of you with the whole of me
Till every pore of my being sings!

It would be strange were I to give thanks
To my stomach, my heart or even my hands!
So I take you for granted, (yes, that’s true)
‘Cause I think you’re a part of me and me of you.
