Crying like a Girl

Once upon a time, when I’d raise my voice

I was told a woman didn’t have the choice

To crib, complain or cry in horror

At the fate held in store for her.

She had to gulp down the fear

And shed not a tear.

But face like a woman

Every scary evil omen.

Still, the ignorant teach the boys

That girls know only how to play with toys.

  1. Aother great poem. I think female subjugation comes from men’s fear of the power of women.
“If you teach a boy, you educate an individual; but if you teach a girl, you educate a community.” Greg Mortenson (writer).
