A mid-summer night’s dream

In the darkness

While everyone else is lost

I seek my path by the light

Of the glowing constellations

Stuck to the ceiling above my bed.

Trapped in a world

So far away from the vastness

They were used to;

Yet they shine for me

Every single night.

And then

You fling an arm around my waist

As if anchoring me

To a reality from which

Even dreams offer no escape.

In the darkness

While everyone else is lost

I seek my path by the light

Of the glowing constellations

Stuck to the ceiling above my bed.

Trapped in a world

So far away from the vastness

They were used to;

Yet they shine for me

Every single night.

And then

You fling an arm around my waist

As if anchoring me

To a reality from which

Even dreams offer no escape.
