A Life Not Less Than Perfect

His eyes opened hesitatingly

As if unable to decide

Which reality was more real –

The one that he had left behind

Or the one that awaited him.

On the one hand,

There was a feeling of wholeness

As he ran through the forest.

On the other,

Only a tingling feeling

Where his legs should have been…

He inhaled the perfume of her hair

And tried to take himself back

To better days…

“Daddy, are you awake?”

Ah, yes. Nothing could be more perfect.
