With a perpetual smile on her face, she might
Fool you into believing that everything is all right.
But if you were to look closely at what lay beneath,
You’d notice the cracked lips and the yellowed teeth.
It might not come as so much of a surprise
To find out all that happiness was just a disguise
For concealing a heart hollow and callous
And a shallow mind filled to the brim with malice.
Don’t be taken in by her completely artificial grin
That calculates your worth as fast as her eyes can take in
The number of chains around your neck,
Your bangles, your earrings…oh what the heck!
Let it suffice to explain, though she might blush with shame
“Greed” and “Avarice” are just her middle name.
