Details in my fabric

Oh, there you are! I have been looking for so long for you,

That I’ve almost forgot what I wanted you to do!

Was it a little hemming in of my ego before it fell apart?

Or was it for adding another cross stitch right over my heart?

Maybe I wanted you to tuck in the loose edges

Of my trust, after a long series of broken pledges.

Would you be ever so kind as to carefully bind

My forever wandering, rambling mind?

A deft little dart placed in between my expectations

Could do so much to shape and define my patience.

Tacking on new dreams could have made me feel good…

But keeping the old ones alive is taking up more than it should.

What do you mean you can’t do it? Your argument doesn’t hold!

Who else but you can understand the little wrinkles and all the folds

That make up the details of the fabric called me?

  1. Beautiful! I especially love these lines…

Of my trust, after a long series of broken pledges.
