Though I have been fortunate to get a loving and caring man of my own, I know of many who do not share the same fate. However, it is also a common occurrence that those who are victims of domestic violence or abuse, refuse to acknowledge it and prefer to live in denial. While they paint a rosy picture for the world to see, behind the doors the only fate that awaits them is a gory one.
She had crossed her heart every time,
Denying knowledge of all his crimes
That happened behind doors
Between her daily chores
As he left her on the floor covered in his slime.
