He stood in the shadows, watching the dangers in his path towards the food laden table. It wasn’t enough to somehow pass through the ever narrowing path between the shoes; no, he had to make sure that stealth was as important as speed. He had to reach the cherry on top of the cake, retrieve it and head back – all in one piece. Preferably.
He sighed once again at the sight that filled his vision. He cursed himself for not setting the reminder for her birthday. This was his penance. If only, she had asked for the moon instead…
