I want to be just like Mommy.
With a fitted dress stretched tight
Over her sole means to keep our dreams alive.
Her bleeding heart poured over her mouth,
Yet she smiled like a prom Queen .
Anger smoldered at her fingertips
As month after month
A younger face joined the race
And crowded her tiny bit of space.
Oh, Mommy I thought you’d be happy
To see me stepping into your shoes,
Ready to take the load off drooping shoulders
And get my very own prom King…
But you cried.

Only if Mommy could tell her that her heart bled with her choice! 😑

Do children really understand why it is ok for mommy but not for them? how could she explain?

That’s what. Kids simply follow their parents blindly and asking them to do otherwise is tough too. Poor lady.

This is a fantastic take on the challenge! Well done – I mean it’s really, really well done – and now you’ve found Michelle, too. She’s worth getting to know.

I’ve thought about it several times, but I’d have to keep on top of it, and sometimes my life goes askew.

Hi there, Sorry it’s taken me this long to respond to you, life has been getting in the way. But this is a great take on the challenge, I like the hope in it. That there is still room for her to strike her own path, and that she is understanding that maybe her mother is regretful of her own choices. Love it. Thanks for posting, you have gained a follower.

Hey. Yes, exactly. There are so many cases of abuse and exploitation in the world. I just wanted to think that there is still some good left. Looking forward to your photo challenges. Very inspiring!
